Description Twenty-four Long Evans rats (12 females) received multi-cue Pavlovian fear discrimination in standard Med Associates boxes. Discrimination took place over a baseline of reward seeking and consisted of 10-s auditory cues predicting unique foot shock probabilities: danger (p=1), uncertainty (p=0.25), and safety (p=0). TTL-triggered, GigE cameras were programmed to capture 25 behavior frames before and 50 frames during cue presentation. 86,400 frames (1,152 trials) were captured during early (session 2), middle (session 8), and late discrimination (session 16).
This data set consists of 1,152 PowerPoint files and 1,152 excel files, corresponding to the 1,152 single trials. Each PowerPoint is a sequence of 75 jpegs captured before (1-25) and during (26-75) cue presentation for that trial. Every PowerPoint file has a corresponding Excel file. Both file types are named by subject_session_trial. 01_08_15 = rat #1, session #8, trial #15. Each Excel file is a string of 75 observations, corresponding exactly to the 75 PowerPoint frames. Additional files included in the MetaData section. ‘Subject information’ provides date of birth, sex, and body weight for each subject. ‘Trial identity’ provides trial type identity (danger, uncertainty, or safety) for each of the 16 trials in a session. Each session is a tab and the 16 rows in each tab correspond to the 16 trials in that session. ‘Behavior definitions’ defines each behavior quantified.
