Description |
This repository stores the data to run the Bayesian Hierarchical GLMM (Generalised Linear Mixed Model) relating covariates (like governance quality, armed conflict, ivory price, and household wealth) to levels and trends in the illegal killing of elephants across Africa, as represented by PIKE data from 64 MIKE sites (2002-2020). To reproduce this analysis, follow the instructions in the README file. This work was carried out for the CITES-Oxford project “MIKE covariate analysis: Determining factors associated with PIKE”, a collaboration between the programme for Monitoring the Illegal Killing of Elephants (MIKE) and the University of Oxford. MIKE is administered under CITES (The Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species). This work was funded by the European Union (CITES project no. S-598; 1 May to 31 December 2021). |
