Description This study was similar in purpose to the 1971 National Survey of Young Women. One of the major purposes of both studies was to provide estimates of the prevalence of premarital intercourse, use and non-use of contraception, pregnancy, and pregnancy resolution among teenagers. The studies also attempted to determine how knowledgeable teenage women were about contraception and the menstrual cycle.
