Description |
This work presents the set of endogenized phage genes in Klebsiella pneumoniae. Original data for the dataset was derived from annotated genome file of the microbe downloaded from GenBank, which was parsed and searched by an in-house MATLAB genome analysis software. The dataset comprises gene name, gene function, and gene sequence of each endogenized phage gene in the microbe. Overall, the data should serve as useful starter for initiating understanding of why particular phage genes remain endogenized in the host genome, and deciphering how evolutionary forces and host transposase has reshaped endogenized phage genes.
