Description |
This dataset was collected as part of an impact evaluation study conducted in Tanzania. The study uses a field experiment approach to assess the effectiveness of farmer-led extension in promoting the adoption of new agricultural technologies, namely, improved bean varieties and a chemical seed treatment (Apron Star). The dataset gives a representative picture of the socio-economic profiles and bean production characteristics of bean producers from 32 villages from two districts in Tanzania that were selected for this evaluation. Three rounds of surveys were conducted, each in 2017 (baseline), 2018 (endline), and 2021 (follow-up). This dataset represents the endline farmer and VBAA surveys conducted in 2018.
