Description The dataset is a result of a literature review of papers on ethical and privacy issues as well as guidelines for the ethically correct application of learning analytics in higher education. The citation database Scopus was used for the selection of papers. The bibliography file was exported on 6 April 2021.

The dataset contains references of analyzed papers and information about ethical issues and guidelines mentioned in the papers, coded using nine categories. The codebook provides descriptions and sources of information for each variable.
