Description 208-214
The library is a non-profit organization that earns minimal money and is a spending institution compared to other
organizations. Due to tight budgets, rising book prices, etc., library materials can be considered valuable resources that must
be conserved at all costs. The study tries to examine the special libraries' digitalization and preservation practices
comprehensively. A structured questionnaire was developed and distributed to the staff of the special libraries; the
population sample size for the study was selected using a simple random sampling method. SPSS and MS Excel have been
used to analyse the data. The significant findings revealed that most respondents, i.e., 11 (73.3%), followed the proper
preservation strategies, and only 4 (26.7%) libraries were not using any preservation technique. The study's findings
demonstrate that none of the special libraries under investigation are fully digitalized, and the library staff believes that
digitizing the collection is necessary to ensure its long-term preservation. The study results will assist librarians in
maintaining and preserving library books, documents, and other items in the digital environment.
