Description Not Available
The present study assessed the internal working environment of Krishi Vigyan Kendra's (KVKs) based on the perception of scientists. The study was conducted with a sample of 60 scientists working at 13 KVKs sampled from Agricultural Technology Application and Research Institutes (ATARIs) of Zone X and Zone XI. Descriptive statistics and suitable nonparametric tests were used for analysis. The results revealed that amongst the perceived components of internal working environment, the highest average index was for job satisfaction (93.09%), followed by interpersonal relations (91.60%), decision making (91.13%), and team work (90.85%). Comparatively lower index values were recorded for work life balance (80.49%), work schedule (74.05%), work time control, and work time variability (68.77%). The results imply that the KVKs have fairly good internal working environment; however, there were some aspects of internal working environment like transparent communication, space to express problems of staff and decision making, recognition for team work and work time control, which can be improved further for effective functioning of KVK from an organisational perspective.
