Description The effect of different organic fertilizers on sustainable production of bush black pepper (Piper nigrum, L.) was studied for three years. Soil availability of major and micronutrients significantly increased with the application of leaf and vermi composts and FYM. Addition of organic composts significantly increased the available K content. Contribution of HN03 extractable K to available pool was highest in leaf compot (LC). NPK and neem cake (NC) and lowest in check. The non-exchangeable K (NEx-K) was significantly lowest in the lower depth due to high root activity favouring more uptake. HN03 extractable K has shown the highest positive correlation (0.688**) with K uptake. Release of NEx-K for crop uptake was
highest in check and NPK and was minimum in organic sources added Pots. Mean yield recorded over three years was significantly high in FYM and vermicompost treatments,
which was 22% higher than NPK treatment.
