Description |
Whether there is a large population of pulsars in the Bulge, millisecond pulsars in particular, is a long-standing problem. We recently carried out a survey of a small region toward the Bulge with the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST) and discovered more than 10 pulsar candidates. Four bright pulsar candidates are estimated to have distances larger than 3kpc and are therefore likely located in the Bulge region. Considering the small number of pulsars we know in the Bulge, the determination of spin and astrometric parameters of these pulsars can be important for us to understand the pulsar population in the Bulge. These information can then be used to investigate the origin of Gamma-ray emission and the electron density distribution in the region. Here we propose to carry out confirmation observation of nine pulsar candidates and time those four bright ones (detected with S/N>20, and with distance larger than 3kpc) with Parkes.
