Description |
In order to enhance the storage stability and road performance of asphalt modified with Styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) copolymers, modified asphalt samples were prepared with an inexpensive and excellent performance of solid Coumarone resin together with SBS, to explore the effect of Coumarone resin dosage on the performance of SBS modified asphalt. The storage stability of the composite modified asphalt was evaluated by segregation test; the high-temperature performance and permanent deformation resistance of the composite modified asphalt were investigated with the aid of Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR) and Multiple Stress Creep (MSCR) tests; the low-temperature performance of the composite modified asphalt was tested by the Bending Beam Rheology (BBR) test. Fluorescence microscopy was used to observe the microstructure of the composite modified asphalt, and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) was employed to investigate the changes in chemical structure during the modification process.
