Description |
In this study, we characterize how the loss of Has1 or Has3, via global gene knockout, affects the morphology, extracellular matrix and mineral content, and mechanical behavior of murine cortical bone. Femora were isolated from Has1-/-, Has3-/-, and wildtype C57Bl/6J mice (female, n = 5-6) and were analyzed using microcomputed-tomography, confocal Raman spectroscopy, three-point bending, and nanoindentation.
