Description MAP studies are a tool for the monitoring of product availability and accessibility, using pre-defined criteria for coverage, quality of coverage and access. The objectives of the 2008 study were to 1) determine the coverage and quality of coverage of PSI's HIV products, 2) identify PSI's HIV prevention product market penetration, and 3) estimate the level of access to HIV products among high risk populations. The study was designed to make comparisons possible between Phnom Penh and other urban areas, and between different types of high risk venues. The MAP methodology employs the Lot Quality Assurance Sampling (LQAS) technique to draw a purposive sample of 19 high risk Sangkats and Zones of a given category, in Phnom Penh and in other urban areas. High risk areas include places with brothels, guesthouses, karaoke lounges, beer gardens, and massage parlors.
