Description |
Even though India produces a good quantity of black pepper, ginger, turmeric and cardamom more than 85% of it is consumed within the country itself Contrary to this other spice producing countries such as Vietnam, Malaysia, Brazil and Srilanka etc. export over 80% of their produce. Value addition throws open ample opportunity in export. The present scenario in processing and value addition of important spices is discussed. |
