The Early Care and Education Legislation Database is maintained by the National Conference of State Legislatures and is sponsored by The Pew Charitable Trusts and the Buffett Early Childhood Fund. This database allows users to track early care and education legislation. Topics include child care and child care quality, early childhood services, early childhood systems, financing early education, governance, home visiting and parent education, infants and toddlers, Pre-K
and Pre-K quality, tax incentives/employers, teachers/workforce.

User Functionality

Users can search state legislation regarding early childhood care and education by topic, keyword, primary sponsor, bill number, or bill status (i.e., active, inactive, adopted, vetoed). Users can view summaries of state legislation.

Data Notes

Legislation information is available for the 2010 legislative session and is available on a state level. The database is updated biweekly.
