Description |
Users can customize data tables and graphs to view data on the country's progress towards the Healthy People 2010 goals. Examples of topics include chronic diseases, infectious diseases, reproductive health and family planning, and mental health. Background Data2010 is a part of the National Center for Health Statistics at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It is an interactive database designed to target the nation's progress towards the HealthyPeople 2010 goals. There are 28 HealthyPeople 2010 Focus Areas, which include health risk behaviors, disease specifics, and health care systems. Within each Focus Area, there are a number of given objectives and leading health indicators. Data on specific objectives,as well as on the entire Focus Area are available. User Functionality The Data2010 data sets are organized by: focus area, data source, Steps to a Healthier USA, specific population group, specific objective within a focus area, or specific objective using a keyword search. Static data tables are available, and users have some customization options. Users can specify focus area, the specific data source, years of interest, and a specific state, if applicable. Users can also choose to view the data in graph form, and they have some customization control over how the graphs looks. Data sets can also be downloaded into Excel spreadsheets. Data2010 contains primarily national data, though state level information is also available. Users can view data by year, race/ ethnicity, gender/sex, and depending on the table by education level, family income level, age group and geographic location (urban/ rural). Data Notes Data sources are clearly identified for each table, and Data2010 is updated quarterly. |
