# Replication materials for "Do Violent Protests Affect Expressions of Party Identity? Evidence from the Capitol Insurrections" *Gregory Eady, Frederik Hjorth & Peter Thisted Dinesen* ## Overview This repository provides data and code to reproduce the aggregate-level results in the article. - Daily_Change.rds: Aggregate-level data. - aggregate_results.R: Produces figures and tables for aggregate-level data. To reproduce the aggregate-level results, run aggregate_results.R. When running this script, please remember to fix the working directory path in the top line of the code. This script will reproduce the following results: Figure 1 (main article) Figure D1 (online appendix) Figure D2 (online appendix) Figure F1 (online appendix) ## GDPR restrictions on individual-level data In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), individual-level data cannot be provided as part of the replication materials due to potential identifiability of individuals. Thus, although this archive provides the code necessary to replicate all individual-level figures and tables, we cannot share the data needed to replicate the individual-level results. The following code files are included without the corresponding data: - prep_analysis.R: Produces the 'Daily_Change.rds' file used by aggregate_results.R - individual_results.R: Produces figures and tables for individual-level data. |
