Description |
This dataset contains all the paintings in the collection of King Ferdinand II of Portugal at the time of his death (1885), and the names of the heirs and buyers who acquired the artworks in the sharing out of the inheritance (1892) and at auction (1893), including valuation and hammer prices. Although the aim was not to determine the current location of each and every item, but rather to build a strong foundation for future endeavors in this field, a number of previously known locations, as well as others unveiled by this research, are also presented.
