Description |
Inoculation of chickpea seed with Rhizobium strain IC 26 or Ca 7 produced more nodules/plant than inoculation with strain 3827 or 2-component mixtures of the 3 strains; nodules/plant were the highest with the 3-component mixture of these strains. There was no significant difference in dry wt. of nodules/plant when seeds were inoculated with a single strain or 2-3 strains. Inoculation with Ca 7 and Ca 7 + IC 26 gave the highest seed yields of 2.33 t/ha, compared with 1.8 t without inoculation.
