Rapid developments in the field of genomics have benefitted plant breeding in recent times. Genomic selection (GS) is one of the tools helping plant breeders in selecting superior genotypes just by using genotypic information. GS is gaining popularity in public and private breeding programs because of its potential to enhance genetic gain. There are several schemes of integrating GS in maize breeding programs, and different groups are using it in their own ways. In this chapter, we discuss about GS as a tool in maize breeding with an emphasis upon how it may be integrated in maize improvement with case studies and examples.
