Description |
International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) led the consortium of research and development institutions that implemented the Andhra Pradesh Rural Livelihoods Project in the state. The project employed innovative entry point activities (EPA) to ensure sustained farmer participation throughout the project period and thereafter. This paper deals with soil nutrient analysis as an entry point activity. It discusses the process involved in the novel EPA and details the strategies adopted to upscale the methodology to other watershed development projects. It also presents how knowledge based EPA can contribute to productivity enhancement complementing outputs of watershed development activities and suggests a model for upscaling productivity enhancement strategies.
