The project has two major objectives- (1) to assist in the development and strengthening of the research capacity of the federal Arid Zone Research Institute (AZRI) local staff and associated collaborators from the provincial agricultural agencies, (2) to formulate and instigate a research program for the AZRI in relevant aspects of dryland agriculture and to assist the local extension agencies in preparing materials for the transfer of AZRI generated technology.
