Description |
Meloidogyne arenaria and M. javanica are the major constraints to groundnut damage in Gujarat, India with the former causing 13-50% of losses and the latter, 10-23% of losses. A table of resistant groundnut lines is given. None were highly resistant to M. arenaria while ICG 5341 and ICG 6330 were highly resistant to M. javanica. Effective control measures include the use of carbofuran @ 2 kg/ha, seed soaking in fenamiphos @ 125 and 250 p.p.m. for 12 h or neem cake @ 1000 kg/ha and above.
