Description 41-46
In this paper, a taxonomic account of the rare deep-sea
caridean shrimp Psalidopus huxleyi Wood-Mason & Alcock, 1892
is provided based on four specimens collected during exploratory
cruises onboard the “Fishery Oceanographic Research Vessel
Sagar Sampada” in the Andaman Sea (635 meters depth) and the
Southeastern Arabian Sea (957 m). This species has often been
recorded from the Western Pacific Ocean, but this study
represents the rediscovery of the species from localities close to
the type localities since its original description.
