Description |
The germplasm accession ICC5386 (NP62), highly susceptible to chlorosis caused by iron deficiency, was crossed with 5 normal cultivars. Examination of the F2, F2 and F3 in the field indicated that susceptibility to chlorosis was controlled by a single recessive gene, although one cross showed an excess of chlorotic plants and the other an excess of normal plants, over the numbers expected.
