Two field experiments were conducted at ICARDA, Tel Hadya, Syria for 3 seasons during 1982-86, to study the relationship between A. rabiei infection and yield loss in chickpea, and to identify disease resistant lines. In the first experiment 80% in lines with rating 8-9. In the second experiment, lines with a rating of ≤4 showed a max. 12% yield loss, while susceptible line ILC 1929, with rating 9, showed almost 100% loss.
