Description |
Four non-nodulating lines, PM233, ICC435M, ICC4918M and ICC4993M, were crossed in all combinations and cultivated on a Vertisol having a native rhizobial population ≥10³/g soil in the 1990-91 post-rainy season and assessed for nodulation after 50 days. Only the parents and ICC435M X ICC4918M failed to nodulate, suggesting that ICC435M and ICC4918M have similar genes controlling non-nodulation, which are dissimilar to those in PM233 and ICC4993M, which are also nonallelic.
