Description |
In a field experiment at Hathazari, Bangladesh, 11 pigeonpea cultivars were sown on 23 December 1987 or 15 January 1988 and 4 or 24 December 1988. Delaying sowing significantly decreased seed yield. Seed yields for any of the cultivars did not exceed 0.5 t/ha largely due to podfly (Melanagromyza obtusa) attack which was not checked by spraying Dimecron [phosphamidon].
