Description The pathogenicity of nine sorghum isolates of Colletotrichum graminicola from different locations in India was tested on 30 sorghum genotypes in the greenhouse. Based on reaction class and disease severity, six genotypes were identified as susceptible and seven as resistant to all nine isolates of the pathogen. The remaining 17 genotypes exhibited differential responses to the nine isolates. The isolates also varied in their cultural characteristics. These results indicated that the nine isolates were distinct physiologic races.
