Description |
Days to maturity, biomass and grain yield in 6 long-duration pigeon pea genotypes of different canopy habits were studied under sole cropping and under intercropping with pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum) during 1985-87, at Gwalior, India. The results indicated that intercropping did not affect days to maturity and that the intercrop mean yield was lower than the yield from sole cropping for all genotypes in both seasons. The highest grain yield was given by genotype ICPL366 in the 1985-86 season (3.73 and 3.07 t/ha under sole cropping and intercropping, respectively).
