Abstract/Description: | Coloured broiler breeders are becoming popular in recent years because of the preference for a range of poultry products as well as the welfare issues in the poultry industry. The female broiler breeders are continuously improved for various economic traits. Amongst these, egg quality trait is very essential for the production of healthy and viable chicks. This study investigates the egg quality parameters in a synthetic coloured broiler breeder female line at different age groups. The study revealed that the egg quality is optimum for setting the eggs for hatching from 40 week onwards as the egg size and internal egg parameters attain the minimum standards for the production of a healthy chick. |
