Abstract/Description: | The variation in maturity period of six commercial cultivars ofber (Gola, Kaithali, Banarasi Kadaka, l ~f11r:;:1. Mundia and Seb) at six different locations (Anantapur, Sardarkrushinagar, Jobncr, Jodhpur. Hibner and l lisar) situated in the arid part of the country from south to north have been studied. Irrespective of cultivars. the peak maturity takes place between last week of November and first week of January in southern region whereas in northern part. peak starts from 10,h January and continues up to 301h March. The prevailing maximum and minimum temperature respectively. 23.3-34.4 and 6.2-19.1 °c along with a temperature difference of 11.9-18.3°C and morning relative humidity of 49.6-87.7% at least for one month before anticipated date of maturity induces peak of maturity in be', cultivers. |
