Abstract/Description: | Experiment was carried out to find the effect of different organic manures for optimum growth and yield of French Bean var. Contender. Plant height and number of branches increased significantly with the application of FYM+ Rhizobium inoculation at 20, 4o and 60 days after sowing. Number of nodules/ plant (8.22 and 6.55) was significantly more with 10 tFYM/ha+ Rhizobium inoculation and 5t pig manure/ha+ Rhizobium inoculation, respectively. The length of primary root was significantly higher with 10t FYM/ha + Rhizobium inoculation (16.36 cm) followed by 5t pig manure/ha+ Rhizobium inoculation (15.08 cm) and 2t vermicompost/ha + Rhizobium inoculation (11.17cm). Similarly, pod weight (8. 63 g) and number of pods /plant (13.67) was significantly more under 10 tFYM/ha+ Rhizobium inoculation. Maximum pod yield (134.69q/ha) was obtained with 10 tFYM/ha+ Rhizobium inoculation followed by 5t pig manure/ha+ Rhizobium inoculation (127.58 q/ha). However, minimum pod yield (116.39 q/ha) was recorded under 2t vermicompost /ha. |
