Abstract/Description: | Science and technology based entrepreneurial ecosystem is a prerequisite for India’s growth towards a five trillion-dollar economy. Challenges including that of climate change that the country is expected to face while achieving the targeted growth can be tackled up to some extent by employing appropriate and advanced technologies. However, ever increasing challenges from the market coupled with dynamic social and economic environment make the technological development and its commercialization process a more complex one. The commercial, policy, environmental, ethical and societal implications of the developed technology is also vital and adequate mechanisms should be in place to deal with them. Hence better techniques are needed for their management, to create policy and educate professionals to commercialize and govern them. Due to the critical role of technology in a competitive environment, strategic technology management is important even for farmers and agrienterprises too. For the long-term success, the researchers as well as farmers must develop and sustain their technological capabilities to create internal and external impacts within an ever changing and market driven socio-economic context |
