dc.description.abstract | Increase in the number of motorised fishing vessels coupled with ever increasing fuel cost has resulted in a decrease in earning per unit of fishing fleet. fuel consumption of medium size trawlers operating from Cochin and Mangalore and the outcome of measures adopted to reduce it are analysed.
